ACADEMY OF ART SPRING 2018 NYFW

Young is modern and tailored to perfection.   The graduating masters program at AAU flaunts fantastic design using multi textured elements.  Modern and artsy, metallic was one view I loved,  along side the multi textured yarns.  The puffy collection looks ready to ship, and  what got my attention the most was the knitwear techniques utilized in some of the less dramatic pieces.

Here’s a look on the Academy of Art runway, and more pics to come of what I saw backstage up close to ooh and ahh about.  Designers  featured include Hailun Zhou, Jelly Shan, Ryan Yu, Dina Marie Lam + Carlos Rodriguez, and Eden Slezin.

If only all young designers had these skills…. Academy of Art University students have access to amazing talent in teachers, clearly.   They didn’t pay me to say that, but if you saw as many things as I do up close and behind the scenes, you would also realize it’s got to be part of their education that helps develop these students into design maestros.
