Though it had humble beginnings, and after dressing thousands of brides, Pronovias celebrates 50 glorious years. For the occasion, a book entitled “50 Years Dressing Dreams” paying homage to brides worldwide, was released. Founded in 1964 as part of the “El Suizo” lace store, the brand evolution is highlighted in the book, along with designers, brides, models, and ambassadors who have collaborated with Pronovias. Here’s a peek at models Anne V. and Jon Kortajarena from the runway.
Additionally, the La Maison Pronovias: Retrospective Exhibition showcases the collaborations between different designers over the last 50 years. Some of the designers include Pedro Rodriguez, Francesco Arenas, and Manuel Mota from the 70’s to 90’s. The 2000 collaborations include Emanuel Ungaro, Badgley Mischa, Valentino and Elie by Elie Saab as well as Atelier Pronovia.
With 50 years under its belt, Pronovias is committed to “fulfilling the dreams of their brides with excitement, love, and passion.”The exhibit will premier in Barcelona and will travel to other fashion capitals with a collection of dresses and iconic pieces from the brand’s history. Pronovias is a family firm that began life in “El Suizo”, a prestigious Barcelona store that specialised in the lace, embroidery and high-quality silk fabrics, founded by Alberto Palatchi Bienveniste in 1922. In 1964, the company presented its first collection of prêt-a-porter wedding gowns in Spain – and Pronovias was born. This is a family firm with a multinational vision and structure that aims to keep growing for the next 50 years.
