MONCLER GRENOBLE fall 2013 NYFW | inner forest
Moncler Grenoble is one of the most highly anticipated shows each winter season at NYFW. There is intrigue and excitement up to the very last minute, followed by a unique delivery of high-tech weather appropriate style. Packed with beautiful people, the crowd at Gotham Hall included Carine Roitfeld, Remo Ruffini, Franca Sozzani, Olivia Palermo and fiancé Johannes Huebl, Emanuele Della Valle, Patrick McDonald, model Anne V, Theophilus London, and Erica Pelosini.
The Autumn/Winter 2013 collection dubbed ‘the Inner Forrest’ featured 370 models in a woodsy arrangement for a full circle view. Columned stacks of men and women donned head to toe outerwear garb as a powerful theatrically light and sound show left quite an enhanced impression. The audience enjoyed the grandiose quality of it all from a darkened pit in the center surrounded by shades of green in varying intensities reminiscent of the mountains from which the brand was born. Check out the video for the full experience we can’t stop talking about.
Naturally the après-ski crowd can appreciate the performance drivenpieces for function meets fashion, going above and beyond with wind flaps, waxed zips, and pockets primed for ski-passes + protective eyewear. Innovation and aesthetic goes hand in hand as new techniques are implemented to achieve the best of both worlds. For example – the women’s collection utilized a braid-effect fleece for the ultimate in insulation without compromising a form fit, for men, a combo of graphic symbols and classics like tweed or check fuse with camouflage or Nordic motifs for modern mode.
The label is inherently slope worthy, but the look and the lifestyle can go from the lodge to the village, to the city… and back again. fdmLOVES Moncler Grenoble AW13 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Sarah A. Freiseis. Moncler Grenoble FW13 Preview from Fashion Daily Mag on Vimeo.
