Carmen Marc Valvo Spring 2014
Carmen Marc Valvo made a pretty bold statement during MBFW for the Spring 2014 season. From interesting accents for show to the main ideas about drama dresses, the dipped colored wigs that were worn by the models or the beautifully crafted gowns that floated down the runway – in its entirety the show was pretty spectacular.
With such an amazing line up including lazer cuts, color blocking, Massai beaded cocktail dresses, leather and Organza ball gowns, it was the good combination of edge and femininity which made us love this collection even more. The “cultural collision of traditional tribal patterns in a monochromatic palette” that we all fell in love with wasn’t quite what we expected. We were happy to see athletic mesh, exposed backs and a series of form flattering, striped cocktail dresses. One of the more interesting aspects of his collection was his use of modern, high-tech material.
Each piece told another chapter of a story. We watched as the show progressively went from day time dresses, to evening gowns. Its smooth transitions were so beautiful and thoughtful that it left the audience yearning for more. When we reached the final chapter of this collection, you could hear the crowd release a pleasant gasp as the models dressed in these breathtakingly beautiful gowns lined up for the finale. fdmLOVES CARMEN MARC VALVO SPRING 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Lauren Watts.
