Versace Resort 2014 Braves the Waves
Whether battling the sea or the streets, the Versace Resort 2014 woman is a winner. Fresh off the glam grunge Vunk collection, the looks are much sweeter this season. Sailor stripes on a cropped sweater provides a moment of maritime influences that carries throughout the pieces. If the collection is a crew, then the tapered trouser is definitely the captain. Completing the looks with graphic ankle strap stilettos reveals that the Versace lady will always stand her ground, in heels of course.
Structure with a dash of Versace seductress is the resort 2014 woman. Skirt suits with sky high slits and belly baring blazers provide the flirty function that the brand delivers season after season. Standing out in an array of hues, pumped up colors are a smart way to showcase a striking spectrum. Less seafarer and more sensual siren, Versace’s Medusa logos are featured on everything from buttons to hardware on handbags to belt buckles. For color, the electric hues of yellows and oranges complement the calmer pale pinks and sea foam blues, overall making a bold balance.
The slashed one piece swimwear and sleek dresses take a turn towards vixen. Florals, and gingham, don’t look dated, but daring on the sharp silhouettes. The brand also features their iconic body con looks with a twist, literally. Tight fitting tulle wraps around cocktail dresses, giving the illusion of a long sleeve. Even on an onyx short skirt suit, the sheer arms provide a barely there mystery thanks to the additional overlay. Ending with a dose of sparkle is a reminder of the more is more mantra of the brand. fdmLOVES Versace resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Mary Anderson.
