DATURA: easy downtown fashionable edge
Introducing Datura collection and e-commerice site, Creative Director Stefania Borras‘s designs will have the cool jetset swooning. In the Comelight campaign shot by Barbara Vidal, the Datura woman journeys to her ideal watery escape, making the billowing pants, backless asymmetrical dresses, and formfitting tops, less sweet for the “independent” heroine.
The Spring Summer approach was a shoot at iconic locations across the globe, cleverly combining Borra’s native Mallorca island, and Barcelona-where the looks are manufactured, plus some NYC streetwise coolish looks to balance the seductive, Spanish style. Made from natural fibers like silks and cottons, the Datura dame may be a free-spirit, but she still stands her ground in the ever-changing city.Take note of the intense hues such as ruby reds on draped pieces like the trousers. They provide a dose of downtown, but the lax fit hints that the brand’s girl still desires a getaway.
NYC-based Datura launched last year with a vision to fuse “Mediterranean with an urban sophistication.” The brand goes back to basics, making these looks an easy addition to any wardrobe (without breaking the bank, as the pieces range from $110-$270).
