Balenciaga Fall 2014 PFW
Utility goes head-to-head with sporty for Balenciaga’s Fall 2014 collection shown during PFW. Designer Alexander Wang is definitely coming into his own as the head of the brand, showing his strongest set yet. Gorgeous coats and raincoats are embellished with leather and latex detailing. Multi-colored wrap coats are delicate and chic while closing dark ensembles show a subtle edge. Plus, supermodel Gisele Bündchen closed out this show in a pearl-incrusted sweater. Such a lovely surprise to see her walking the catwalk again!
We like that there’s a playful and serious side to this collection. This girl will get down to business when she needs to, but she also knows how to have a good time. This is outerwear perfection with so many variations to choose from. Definite highlights include leather dresses and coats with sass. Love the patterned pockets on the first few looks and there’s bags to obsess over. There’s lots of attention drawn to the waist, declaring female empowerment of sorts.
With fabric experimentation and modern cuts, this is fashionable armor at its finest. Wear it proudly. fdmLOVES BALENCIAGA Fall 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
