CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

MARA HOFFMAN FALL|WINTER 2011-12 MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK NEW YORK

a HINT of a MARA romance. we’ve loved the prints,  leggings and swim and now the must have sweaters for fall. HOFFMANs Spiritual Warrior muse is on a constant journey, her travels as inspirationial references in developing the exciting new and original prints she designs for the collection. STRONG bold colors with lots of reds and jewel tones; prints include “Hunter” (Feather camouflage), “Arrows” (Tribal), “Wolfy” (Dreamcatcher), “Kiko” (Geometric) and “Traveler” (Zebra) with tassles, braiding and embroidery accenting the pieces.

This season, MARA also developed a new wool tweed, multi striped  yarn dyed fabric.  The collection features a lot of dresses and gowns in stretch silk georgette, chiffon and silk jersey, as well as chunky knits that we just LOVE on FDM … and on a more personal note, she tells us.

‘“My influence for this collection started with my husband, Javier Piñón, whose last body of work O Babalon has been an enormous inspiration to me. We constantly inspire one another and because we are expecting our first child together, as artists, we feel more creatively connected than ever. O Babalon consists of collages built around depictions of an earth goddess, her attendants, priestesses and their mystical terrain.’
