CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

VIONNET PARIS fall 2013 highlights

Coming into her own with a second go round at the helm of Maison Vionnet,  Goga Ashkenazi channeled ancient times in creating Fall 2013. The label’s founder Madame Vionnet, made a name for herself with beautifully designed dresses, oftentimes finding inspiration in Grecian garb. This season was also heavily influenced by the same old world charm, but made new with modern elements unique to this collection alone.

The draping was purposeful, and nuances were finessed with ease. Understated tonal ensembles, slightly more bold with color pops in blocks, while the metallic took things up yet another notch. Structured pieces were well defined in contrast to flowing ethereal components, mixed or matched for style. While dimension added sculptural value, artistically belted looks showed off shape without comprise.

Make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury was inspired by natural beauty a la Brooke Shields in compliment to the collection. Brows got brushed up and the complexion fresh with nude. A little romantic red on the eyes topped with brown mascara was warmed even more by caramel blush and brightened with silvery highlights on the cheeks. fdmLOVES MAISON VIONNET AW13 Paris selects by Brigitte Segura,  written by Sarah A.
