CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Valentino Spring 2014 PFW

When extravagance and beauty combine, it flows like the notes in a masterpiece opera. The Valentino Spring 2014 collection achieves such a glorious feat. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli drew extensive inspiration from the Rome Opera, which is obvious in the breathtakingly beautiful colors and silhouettes in this set. Seeming like a lovely extension of their most recent couture line, this assortment also features stunning embroidery and high-neck dress cuts. Romantic and entrancing.

The embroideries here are simply one-of-a-kind. Lavish and fantastical, they accentuate, never taking away from each garment. The patterns are rich in color and entice you in, especially on long gowns and coats that resemble open printed robes. Gorgeous warm hues spread throughout, like deep emerald, maroon, red and cranberry. Champagne’s also a highlight shade, really shining on short beaded dresses and as the base color on many other dazzlers. At times, gowns hint towards Russian influences with colorful embellishments that feel otherworldly. Mystical might be the perfect word to describe everything that’s going on in this collection. Like a dreamy escape.
