Take A Look: Kickstarter For STREETWISE

Thirty years ago, filmmaker Martin Bell made Streetwise, a compelling documentary that showed teenage homelessness (and sexual exploitation) in the 80s. Several decades later, Martin and photographer Mary Ellen Mark have kept in touch with ‘Tiny,’ a young girl in the film that instantly became a cult figure. The couple have kept a close relationship through the years with the girl, documenting many moments in her trying life. The filmmakers now want the world to ‘revisit’ Tiny, hoping to make a follow-up of of the first film.

A kickstarter is in place to help fund this future film, one that will show Tiny’s daily struggles as a mother of ten. With life’s ups and downs, this lady is a true survivor in every sense of the word. The Kickstarter campaign will be ‘kicking’ off Wednesday, November 20th and last until December 20th. It will help cover the cost of making this very special film.  Take A Look: Kickstarter For STREETWISE Doc Follow-Up commentary by Allison Ripa.
