Rochas Resort 2014: a Stunning Seafarer

The Rochas Resort 2014 woman channels a feminine fisherman. From starfish situated on totes to crustaceans covering button downs, Marco Zanini‘s girl is quite a catch. The full skirt silhouette is the wildcard for resort, and definitely one you won’t want to throw back into sea. Offering the standout shape on a sleek skirt suit looks as if the Rochas gal just jumped out of the water.

Thankfully we aren’t drowned by the nautical moments, as Zanini keeps the symbols slightly abstract. Far away they appear like constellations in the midst of the ocean, while up close the watery themes seeps through. A special bonus is that 3D glasses aren’t necessary. Jacquard fabrications provide a larger than life realness for the deep sea duds. Plastering the popping prints onto the structured separates, like a navy and gold coat, adds fun to the function.  On soft sweaters, the Rochas logo in look at me letters can double as a fashion forward flag, so this striking sailor always knows her way home.

Shifting away from the sea and stepping onshore brings girl meets guy looks. The chunky clogs paired with the hourglass gowns delivers a dose of quirk rather than predictable flirt. While for the more androgynous looks, the full skirts are replaced with even fuller trousers in bright hues like salmon. Graphic grids on short sleeved sweaters, polos, and trousers takes a turn into modernity without clashing with the main marine themes. An argyle sweater paired with tailored shorts is perfect for the boat or the boardwalk.  fdmLOVES ROCHAS resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Mary Anderson.
