CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

More Resort 2014 Sneak Peeks

Resort’s not over yet! There’s a batch of new collections being shown and we’d like to give a little taste of what’s to come. The sets released so far have us standing up and applauding. We’ve been blown away by bright florals, daring cuts and feminine silhouettes that seem one-of-a-kind. Resort, which has been referred to loosely as pre-spring too, is starting to become a big deal for 2014…and we’re loving the fresh bursts.

Greek designer Mary Katrantzou has a big, beautiful surprise in store. In her first Resort collection ever, she heavily features prints that are a collection of postcards from around the world and the designer’s own photographs. High-rise apartments in Sao Paulo, French flower fields, a Japanese bridge, the Swiss Alps and many more gorgeous photographs are all printed on these girly silhouettes. Everything is positively bewitching. Shying away from his modern gothic aesthetic, Damir Doma features a color palette that is more subtle, softer than what we’re used to from this designer. Although darker hues are included, we feel his Resort collection is an ode to femininity. Lots of influences are evident in this set but it still looks so cohesive. Proving to never settle for just one vision, Doma shines brightly here.

CHRISTOPHER KANE resort 2014 fashiondailymag sel 52

No. 21 designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua gives a fun set that’s perfect for that unpredictable weather on vacation. Looking trendy as ever, fashionable parkas and bomber jackets look dainty, not formless. The prints are girly and retro. Roland Mourtet’s collection are pieces ready for that night out in the city. Sexy and sleek, these dresses add a little extra sass to a wardrobe and shimmer. Christopher Kane’s set goes from subtle to wild. It begins with a gray pant suit and ends with a daring printed nude evening gown. Take a walk on the wild side with the ending looks. We’ve already shown you Noon By Noor and Marni, but they’re so great that they deserve a second mention. Both lines show bold prints that sizzle. Noon’s flamingo print is adorably chic while Marni highlights a woman’s waist with cinching. We’re gushing here, but it’s deserved. Resort 2014 been a thrill. fdmLOVES resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura.  Written by Allison Ripa.
