CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

RAIF AW 13 NYFW

The RAIF menswear line was displayed on runway for the first time ever as part of the DETAILS Collections situated at New York Library at Lincoln Center during Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. Designer Raif Adelberg presented “Hinterland: from the forest” on a host of sauntering hotties, including our boy Willy Cartier and new chouchou for fall 2013, Lyle Lodwick.

Described as clothes suited for an existence for a wild man on the move, one that roams the earth living the land and taking in the culture but never settling down in one place long enough to call it home. Knits consisting of pullovers, cardigans, and more retained a hand to hand quality from start to finish. Relaxed to the max with droopy drawers in diaper styles, drop crotch sweats, and pleated pants, the look is wild card style with ease. Outerwear was aesthetically in step and functionally appropriate with a felted coat and leather jacket.

Accessorized with nomadic necessities including hats, scarves, gloves, leg and arm warmers plus head feathers for show, the lost boy look was a story of cool on the go. Artist Jon Hennessey did the hair & make-up, Ian Astbury of The Cult created original music just for the show, and shoes in varying styles were provided by Cole Haan.

Another thing to note, heartwarming and awesome all in the same, Adleberg worked with the Make-A-Wish foundation to grant a young man named Christian Balelia his dream of walking the runway at a NYFW show.  He fit right in and we wouldn’t have known otherwise just by looking at the line-up which says something big… Christian, you are indeed a high fashion model. fdmLOVES RAIF ADELBERG fall 2013 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Sarah A.
