CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Naeem Khan Fall 2014 NYFW

Just in time for the Oscars, Naeem Khan’s Fall 2014 collection of ready-to-wear evening gowns still has us swooning. Held at the Lincoln Center during NYFW, this celeb-favorite designer [and one of the First Lady’s favs too] sent a bevy of beauties down the boudoir-lit runway. Inspired by all things cabaret, this designer was never short on drama and glitz with gold and white numbers throwing us back to 1970s chicness. We had a chance to bop backstage before the show, chatting with some of the girls and getting first looks of the red carpet-ready gowns. Believe us, they’re even more breathtaking up close.

Movement, movement, movement. Not only are these dresses beautiful beyond words, there’s a gorgeous sense of air and flow about them. They’re sassy, divalicious and downright hot. Especially fringed beaded numbers that shimmy and shake lusciously. A hunter green feathered knockout looks like something a princess of the wilderness would wear…like a modern day sultry Snow White. Animal friends not included. Leopard print is retro fun, not old-fashioned. Blood red is absolutely divine on a lacy number, with flowers resembling festive poinsettias. A black and white gown best fits the showgirl mystique with a flowing skirt that practically floats on its own. Showy with the right amount of taste. Now for the nails, we loved the gold, Julie Kandalec for essie created a luxe, red-carpet ready gold nail by layering good as gold and shifting power.

Throw these girls a standing mic, they’re ready to sing themselves into our hearts. Bob Fosse would approve. A little drama never hurt anyone. fdmLOVES NAEEM KHAN Fall 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
