More Love: Fall 2014 NYFW Highlights

Even though Fall 2014 NYFW has come and gone, we still can’t stop thinking about it. The [snowy] week was jam-packed with amazing collections from designers new and old. Some of our favorite highlights included Dominic Louis, Katie Gallagher, Azede Jean-Pierre, Organic by John Patrick and Religion.

As the sun set over Studio 450, the Dominic Louis show amped the fierceness factor into overdrive. Designer Louis Mairone sent his ladies down in fashionable post-apocalyptic inspired stunners. Favorites include high-waisted skirts and slouchy sweater dresses with ‘oomph.’ As for the Katie Gallagher collection, it was shown at the beautiful Highline Hotel. The goth vibe is hypnotizing and instead of leather, this young designer used nylon to implement the ‘tough girl’ aesthetic. We love the romantic tale deep red and black tell. Moody chic.

Azede Jean-Pierres collection is sporty fab. Knitwear is filled with athletic undertones that really soars in burnt orange. Beanies are a cute addition and belted coats are perfection. Dresses also pop with charm in satin variations. Organic by John Patrick took us to outer space and back again. This space voyage-inspired collection modernizes astronaut gear and makes it fashionable. White jumpsuits are especially chic and we love the incorporated woven cotton throughout.

Last but not least, Religion is a throwback to the 90s grunge scene through and through. Held at the Hotel Chantelle, this late-night presentation was a music lover’s delight. As for the set, it’s heavy on the plaids and black, looking stellar. The guys and girls have plenty to pick from, but standouts include ombre sweaters and graphic jackets. Love the bite.
