CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

HIGHLIGHTS Miami Swim 2014

The heat is on with latest in sea, sand, and sun lifestyle wear with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2014 edition in the spicy city of Miami. Lots of skin and plenty of sex appeal happening on the scene as designers showcase an array of fashionable swimwear. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite labels for a capsule of highlights.

The creatives channeled some vintage island style at Nicolita. The popular pin-up model looks was in full form with plenty of high-waisted bottoms to go around. It was feminine frills at its best with lace, ruffles, sashes, and bows. Not to mention perky placement of polka dots scattered throughout. Playing on the theme – a throwback color story of black playing against white, dusty pink, and a seafoam shade enhanced the overall mood the designs evoked. All about mix and match at Poko Pano with bikinis paired with loungewear to complete a casually attractive atmosphere. Brightly colored prints were oh so appropriate and worked well with white that is fresh for an added pop against tan skin. The shapely dimensions are slightly more sporty and are fit for secure. Great for hitting the beach volleyball court in suit that will sizzle even when you might work up a sweat.

Marysia is a nice blend of accents on popular bathing beauty silhouettes. The bandeau styles are super cute and made more interesting with unique hem details that are re-purposed throughout. Seaming for flattery and fabric accents of large leopard print have a subtle charm that carries throughout the vignette and t even extends to elegant extensions into skirts, tanks, and dresses.

Meanwhile poolside at theFunkshion event Barraca Chic transformed the runway with an assortment of styles bearing Swarovski. Six bikinis were embellished all over in what to amounted to 1,400 crystals on each. Besides the bling the collections boasted a mix of eco-friendly fabrics plus Lycra that boasted quick-drying properties, UV, protection, and no pilling. Other pop moments included a candy colored neon as well as metallic capsules.

Suboo gets printed with purpose and intensity as eye-popping effects are created in direct influence of geometric optic and patterns of nature. The flattering cuts are refreshingly distinctive and get spiced with sheer paneling that adds sexy elegance. The modern factor is amplified with cut-outs and strapping and revealing silhouettes that are striking.

The wildchild of the bunch this year is without a doubt Agua Bendita. No need to shed your cool image when the layers come off. Let your bad girl side be exposed with an array of motto elements like skin slick fabrications shaped like that of their imitated leather counterparts in the form of vests and chaps. Other hot detailing like studs, exposed zippers, and snakeskin highlight the fashionable components. Wouldn’t you know rocker girls like to strip down and soak up the sun too!

Some labels are just too loved to only mention with a teaser. Check-out our full coverage on swim shows from recognizable fashion favorites Chloe and Mara Hoffman. fdmLOVES MIAMI SWIM 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Sarah A. Freiseis.
