MENSWEAR: emerging designers NYMD ss18

Fresh, emerging designers kicked off our NYFW:M with their SS 2018 presentations at New York’s Men’s Day. An amazing display of diversity with each designer’s ability to showcase their own personal style and vibe through their clothing. Our New York Men’s Day morning had a talented line-up of presentations from faves Woodhouse, Krammer & Stoudt, David Hart, Daniel Hechter Paris, Bristol, and HEAD OF STATE+.

The WOODHOUSE collection immediately grabbed my attention with its unique mix of street style with an eastern edge, in blocks of color. Designer Julian Woodhouse’s Korean upbringing most definitely shined through as a reflection of his own personal sense of style. Models on podiums carrying bats like basemen at a baseball game, and athletic vision only added to the aesthetic of the HOT presentation. Special appearance by CFDA // NYFWM ambassador and musician Young Paris just added to the hot vibes, as well as the hellos with fellow Tumblr friends.

We were transported back in time to Havana with David Hart’s tropical 50’s inspired collection. Models rocked fedoras, sunglasses, and a cigar in their breast pocket just for show. The mint suit was a standout along with the summery tones we’ve grown to love, lightened in saturation of colors this season. A very dapper (junior) joined the show sporting a look, complete with a cigar. A breath of fresh air screaming gentleman summer.

Krammer and Stoudt brought casual summer neutrals with an little edge to the spring 2018. Surrounding a neutral theme of palm trees,  layers in interesting textural fabrics come in a variety of stripes and loose layers while traditionally tailored pieces in navy prevail.

Daniel Hechter Paris came to show in NYC. Earthy neutrals with long overcoats, colorful blazers, and bomber jackets paired well with shorts and trousers. Clean classic looks with fave Roberto Sipos sporting the casual comfortable sleek look of casual for a modern gentleman.

HEAD OF STATE+ showing for the first time in NYFW gave us a nice mixed packed with style.  Classic menswear casual with colorful bursts of sunny tones + reds, styled for the urban guy.
