loving FAT lip pencils

Oh last few days have felt like summer is here, and we didn’t even enjoy spring yet!  With all the outdoor weekends and afternoons on the beach coming soon, it’s time to step up the summer makeup game too.  While we are still transitioning to warmer days, an easy way to change it to summer is with your lip colors.   We found a couple of “fatties” made just for lips by Vincent Longo and Lipstick Queen,  in lightweight formulas to enhance your pout under the bright outdoor light.

Here are our two favorites for the season, with fresh colors to achieve a precise look.

Vincent Longo’s Unione Lip Stylo has smooth texture and nice scent.  It’s easy to apply and perfect for on-the-go. The lip liner gives balmy finish with hint of color that’s less dramatic than a lipstick but stronger than a gloss.  If you apply with a brush with a heavier hand, you will achieve a medium to deeper color that can transition from day to night .  The package includes a sharpener to ensure the precision is always on-point.   3 summer-friendly shades include a soft rosy nude (Andesena) for everyday, a raspberry pink (Pavena) for a sweet look, and our favorite, an orangey red (Cinabra)… a little flirty for day and hot enough for a summer sunset.  ($26)

If you’re a matte lips kind of girl and want to go a little lighter for summer,  try Lipstick Queen Cupid’s Bow.  Though not as heavy as a lipstick, this fattie gives a rich medium to medium color.  A fun fact: the name was inspired by “the artful precision of a perfectly applied cupid’s bow!”  Like the Lip Stylo, the texture is nicer and more comfortable than a lipstick, but easier to apply lightly.   The lip liner glides on the lips easily with intense, long-lasting color while remaining moisturizing, so it’ a win-win!  Cupid’s Bow has 8 shades, with enough reds and pinks with satin-matte finish pick from.  at DraperJames ($22)

Try layering the VLongo lip stylo with a bit of bold color like a red or deep pink from LQ to get more intense color combo for summer nights!
