The Berlin beat is coursing through our fashionable veins – from the designer shops on Ku’damm to the catwalks – Wunderbar! With fashion week coming to a close in Germany we’ve got loads of international awesomeness to expose our readers to, plenty of highlights to get you closer to your fix from the aw 2013-14 runway at MBFWB.

Heavy hitter Hugo by Hugo Boss closed out day three with Eyan Allen as the creative eye for the women and men’s by Bart de Backer with ‘we mean business’ sleek chic for both sexes, and a snowy wonderland with white park benches flanking the runway at Marc Cain, as the hip sportswear collection was wrapped with sophistication and got some intriguing dimension with outerwear.

Anne Gorke presents black sophistication with a touch of sweet mixed with champagne, grey, and white moments in mixable feminine forms. The free spirited collection of Irina Scrotter’s vision is ethnically driven but made modern safari in black and white whereas Dawid Tomaszewski equaled all chic and cutouts in black. The Victorian schoolgirl look emerged at Blaenk, it was over-sized and draped for dimension at Vladimir Karaleev, and Miranda Konstantindou brings on the funk in a colorful combination of printed pieces.

A Degree Fahrenheit is decidedly a modern woman’s wardrobe staple mixing business with pleasure and serious with drama. Standout styles at Issever Bahri included crochets and big sized knits topped off with outerwear, and an assortment of collars, necklines, and tied components were memorable at Rena Lange. Micheal Sontag offered up some loose and lovely with an easy drape and effective single color simplicity.   Models were sharply dressed and finely tailored in a moody palette platform presentation at Isabell De Hillerin, and the girls get dressed up in no nonsense winter time elegance in Schumacher, things got a little livelier in pieced and fitted to perfection in a sea of jeweltones at Marcel Ostertag.

A host of high profilers attend the Mercedes-Benz Press Vernissage during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin at Brandenburg Gate on January 17. It girl IMG model Karlie Kloss was there rocking a deep v white dress that teetered between daring and darling,  mingling with Jefferson Hack and nyc based photographer Ryan McGinley who shot the campaign with Kloss.

Visiting or choosing to stay in Berlin for fashion week did not disappoint.  The runway walk turned into a living room scene as cold weather chic perches with indulgent poise at Schacky and Jones, Anja Gockel layers loose and fitted layers in a muted jeweled color story with suited texture, and the Green Showroom presented sustainable fashion, beauty and accessories with a high-end catwalk presentation at the Hotel Adlon-Kempinski.

Meanwhile a photoshoot like the presentation at Augustin was moody and romantic in racy layers of lace in black. The French/German design team of Odély Teboul + Annelie Augustin teeters between Ready-to-Wear and Haute Couture with just enough edge, and designer to the stars Brian Rennie of Basler showcases glitz and glam with black and gold sleek meets bling. Moto jackets and shiny leggings mingle with sequined scene stealers in proper meets punchy moments. fdm selects from the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin catwalk by Brigitte Segura.  Written by Sarah A.
