CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Giorgio Armani Spring 2014 MFW

Set in a magical garden beneath the Giorgio Armani’s proved that he’s king of fashion’s Atlantis through a range of tailored, city suits and ethereal, dreamy dresses. The aptly-named “Light and Shadows” water-inspired collection took onlookers on a journey from silvery-grey feminine jackets and shorts to diaphanous, shimmering robes in transparent silks.

Armani kicked off the show with an array of silvery grey and sandy-colored separates, including jackets, skirts and culottes laced with subtle sea creature prints. Next came a series of multi-layered, cloud-light, knee-length dresses, and strapless gowns that fell loose from elasticized ruffles.

The mermaid-like mix included billowy gowns made of vast swaths of silk georgette. As if catering for the urban goddess setting off on an adventure the designer delivered the two distinct looks through fabrics and structures that started off transparent and tailored and progressively wove them into voluminous pieces.

The march into a more dreamlike look was echoed through soft blues, grays, and pinks – complete with blurry floral and faded watermarks patterns – brightened later in the show by a smattering of electric blue and cerise. Plexiglass heels, multi-colored bags, and sleek hair with bold makeup accented in complement to the aquatic vibe. fdmLOVES GIORGIO ARMANI SPRING 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Khia Mercer.
