CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Georgine Fall 2014 NYFW

Making its debut at the Lincoln Center during NYFW, the Georgine Fall 2014 collection turned a couple of heads. Designer Georgine Ratelband presented a gorgeous array of interchangeable coats and skin-tight pants that sizzle from day into night. The vibe is 100 percent lux chic, the kind of clothes to travel around in style, darling. Inspired by Shakespeare’s Hamlet, there’s not only amazingly feminine styles here, there’s some innovative fabric techniques incorporated into these gems. The Bard would improve.

We had a chance to chat with the designer before her exciting Lincoln Center debut. When asked who a ‘Georgine girl’ is, she said:

“My customer is a strong woman. She likes to be elegant, but with an edge. I mean, the clothing is very versatile. The pieces are multifunctional. They can be mixed and matched. That’s who she is.”

First off, the fabrics are breathtaking. There’s cashmeres, silks, leather and not to mention a neoprene fabric that looks like glass. They cut it apart and put lace inbetween, creating this high-fashion hybrid material. So. gorgeous. There’s oversized coats and form-fitting dresses that exude sass. Colors are deep and enticing, like royal blues and shimmering silvers. Plus, there’s a lot of fuzzy textures to add some warm dimension. Many are dyed in lavish colors for an added ounce of fabulousness.

The added sunglasses and oversized hats just add to the sex appeal. We’re liking this Georgine girl…we hear she’s quite the trendsetter. fdmLOVES GEORGINE Fall 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
