BEAUFILLE Fall 2013

Young talented sisters Chloe and Parris Gordon are behind up and coming label Beaufille. Not long ago, the Toronto based dynamic duo changed their “Chloe Comme Parris” to the BEAUFILLE for their next chapter.  The clever new title can be loosely translated as “Handsome Girl,” that fits perfectly with their fall 2013 collection. Wearable “clean” looks with a nod to 19th century art and a little grunge.

The somewhat contradictory muses of the Fall 2013 collection makes for a truly delightful and intriguing story. Over the past few seasons, the pair found inspiration in the 1990’s grunge trend which is also made evident in this season’s collection as well. Although they’ve decided to dive deeper into one trend throughout multiple seasons, they weren’t shy to introduce news elements as a part of their brand as they continue to push their jewelry line as well.

In addition,  they continue to test the limits by incorporating punk rock edginess to their ensembles by adding patterned thigh highs, leather mini- skirts worn with crop tops and sheer pieces. Embracing an androgynous style,  they incorporated various patterns that are similar to those used in 19th century art,  introduces a level of sensuality that is definitely welcomed. Even through a name change, the two were very clear in the direction that they wanted to take their vision. With such a distinctive mixture of youthfulness, romance and edge,  we can’t ignore the fashionable story that they are telling us. BEAUFILLE  fall 2013 written by Lauren Watts.
