CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

ANTONIO ORTEGA couture fall 2014 Paris

Introducing Antonio Ortega couture fall 2014. The designer’s collection debut to Parisian Couture is a melange of textures, embroideries and all that glimmers. Unexpected contrasts referencing clashing cultures are evident in Ortega’s pieces. Ladder stitches dominate his clothes, where traditional embroidery finishes fabric edges, his trademark respectful of the know-how of a universal heritage: transforming the material by extracting its threads.

“A collection for the urban Pocahontas of today and tomorrow, chic and stylish, for the shoppinger constantly pounding city asphalt and playing the new gorgon of modern times.”

Full of surprises, the 36 silhouettes superimpose transparencies, textures, shiny materials, and unfinished seams. Details include Tatooes on leather, reembroidered guipure lace, textured textiles such as hemp and paired with feathers. “A collection for the urban Pocahontas of today and tomorrow” for the girl pounding city asphalt in modern times. We’re keeping an eye on this one. ANTONIO ORTEGA couture fall 2014 Paris commentary and selects by Brigitte Segura.
