CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Alexandre Herchcovitch Spring 2014

Punk rock takes a ladylike detour at Alexandre Herchcovitch Spring 2014. Straying from the seasonal pastel and cotton-candy colored palette adopted by many of his peers, the edgier offering was inspired by a theme uniquely embraced by many in the past year. The designer’s somber yet elegant lineup provided a grown up aesthetic, complete with heavily embellished dresses, svelte pencil skirts, and satin tops and lace with a polished, grown-up edge.

A cleverly tailored zebra-print crop top paired with a matching pair of striking trousers with an above-the-knee pencil skirt mad for part Downtown Abbey muddled with a dash of Mad Men glamour to vamp up the mix. The splicing technique seen in a must-have crop top, paired with a stunning pencil skirt with frayed chiffon dusting the hemline impressed as did the grey zebra-stripe camisole with sheer skirt with a matching coat attached like a cape, crafted out of sumptuous satin.

The lineup’s deconstructed appeal was bed down through mini-dresses and drainpipe cropped trousers and sexy pinstripe satin dresses, perfect for both a Wall Street power lunch and happy hour cocktails at Cipriani Downtown alike. Perfecting Hollywood waves and a neutral, fresh face, reinforced the polish of femme fatale. fdmLOVES ALEXANDRE HERCHCOVITCH SPRING 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Khia Mercer.
