From the [180th] row at the tent I felt like I was at a concert, a Justin-and-celebrity-fan-on-stage (or front-row) performance…
I was distracted by a squealing video arm (equipped with camera man) swinging above my head, feeling more like a ‘groupie’ seated next to a (1st-year) fashion student snapping shots of celebs, identifying “people” seated front row …[I suppose she had a great zoom]… the [immediate] crowd kept shuffling around, moving from [standing] to 5th row, then back up to the 8th… then coming back to get more of their friends…
I was GLAD I had a “ticket” and a seat…[even if it was the balcony]…
WILLIAM RAST is ‘embracing the renewed (American) confidence and vision’… and believes ‘creativity is the ingredient to bring energy into today’s culture’ ;[and I would have to agree]…
STARTing the show with another mix of ROUTE 66, the enthusiasm was robust ; the celebrities and people made it exciting and all… looks were a little [vintage] diesel-esque , with a twist of “denim and diamonds” in the mix…the layers of leather and denim were hot- in a ‘90s WEST- HOLLYWOOD ‘chopper’ way, equipped with studs and the fringe…
The PATCHWORK jeans looked fresh [the first time around], and I loved the brighter blue moto skinnys… there was really no need for the extended versions… but we got them all - embelished, appliquéd, and acid splattered…
…an (L.A.) rock-and-roll attitude of ‘worn vintage pieces with contemporary styling’ ; but RAST missed the high notes in the execution… a few washes looked (too) dirty and some pieces looked stiff… the acid wash a la thelma + louise didn’t hit my contemporary point… and those ‘blasts’ on the denim were “shouting” obvious… c’mon, johan… we expected more than that…
… JUSTIN timberlake graciously shared the floor with director(s) johan lindeberg (formerly of diesel) + (j.lindeberg), long time friend trace ayala, and marcella lindeberg … a great energy but room for improvement and more FUN to be had… a time for the [great] cast to push a creative envelope, and stay in key…
