CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Vionnet Haute Couture Spring 2014

Soothing colors and gorgeous draping are the first noticeable aspects of the Vionnet Haute Couture Spring 2014 collection. Take a closer look and you will see an array of subtle, but truly outstanding details on these flowy couture gowns. Designer Hussein Chalayan gave us sparkles on shoulders and delicate swirls on dress skirts…the hidden surprises that make couture couture. This set is one part Grecian goddess, one part modern day socialite. Basically, this kind of muse can be fed grapes and text on her iPhone.

This line stays true to the classic Vionnet vision, including soft fabrics and feminine draping that accentuates. Dresses drift and sway with a certain kind of strength. There’s a hidden powerful undertone with this collection. It’s the kind of set that seeps self-confidence into a girl’s pores. It’s downright gorgeous, of course, but it’s also full of womanly brawn, especially with the chunky straps and accessories. There’s also stellar pleating seen on a periwinkle dress and light top. Prints are kept to a minimum…adorable dots scatter across white dresses. These gowns, in particular, feel Japanese-inspired. The contrast is seamless.

A dash of girlish charm and a whole lot of attitude complete this set.. a princess with a punch. yay. fdmLOVES VIONNET Couture Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
