CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Timo Weiland Spring 2014

Held inside the cool atmosphere of Milk Studios, Timo Weiland‘s Spring 2014 collection was shown in front of a packed, and eager, audience of onlookers. Designing trio Timo Weiland, Alan Eckstein and Donna Kang are New York’s current designing darlings. Our editor [Brigitte] even had the pleasure of meeting the three during the week! This line, originating only in 2010, has become one of most anticipated shows during Fashion Week. It’s a brand that embodies the city of New York, in all its eccentric, artistic and fascinating glory.

The designers found inspiration in all aspects of their everyday lives for this collection. The recent CFDA inductees traveled to Indonesia and gathered photographs to use as a sort of ‘reflection’ board of ideas. What resulted is a very clean, very fresh assortment of wearable clothes that are so on point with what’s selling off the shelves right now. Knit dresses and anoraks, some in fab leather, are too cute while the color palette of navy, red and white puts us in the Americana spirit. Color mixing and print switching keeps everything alluring and exciting. It’s a bold but perfect way of print swapping. The cinched-waist shirt dresses that open into free-flowing silk skirts are definite highlights here. Innovative and versatile staples. An assortment of beautifully crafted pieces.

Sexy and comfortable, never bordering on sleazy. Always fresh to death. Five menswear looks even have the same cool vibe as the womenswear winners. We spotted one of our favorites, Baptiste Radufe, rocking a stylin’ mens’s look. Sportswear preppy chic, the kind of clothes to wear over and over again. That’s a ‘win win’ for all.
