Thakoon Resort 2014: Fresh and Functional
Guy-inspired styles were prominent for Thakoon Resort 2014, but not in the usual journey down the androgynous road, as layers upon light layers morphed into modernity. Conquering the challenge of revamping the classic [white] button-down, Thakoon offered the closet staple in a variety of ways. Whether it is a deep v neck, slightly see through, or with full coverage, there’s one for each city slicker to appreciate the early spring season.
Full square shoulders provided manly versus ladylike looks, yet the lightweight fabrics kept it from appearing severe. Thin point d’Espirit fabrics in the structured shape of Cuban button-downs from menswear. Moments of masculinity were shown not only in the shape, but also the prints. A pinstriped blue jumpsuit with ivory lace embroidery bonded strong and sweet sensibilities. Keeping it a bit structured on top, and flirty on the bottom with flowing skirts… a little shout-out to femininity.
Clean colors were prominent: neutrals, whites, blacks and a little hint of blue. Silks, raffias, and leathers looked clean thanks to the tall silhouette Thakoon molded. Thin clutches and tasseled flats added flair without being distracting. For Resort 2014, Thakoon formed a girl that will definitely turn a few heads in a subtle way! fdm LOVES Thakoon Resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, Written by Mary Anderson.
