a GIRL’s FAVORITE ACCCESORY just got MORE accessorized; shoes are the new DRAMA on the runway…by brigitte segura while some of the FALL 2010 silhouettes were a little less busy, the shoes pumped up the VOLUME [and texture]…EDITOR PICKS: some notable WALKING on the runway:TWEEDS and PLAIDS with tassels and wingtips details at ALEXANDRE HERCHCOVITCH + went ARMORed, buckled and then chained at JASON WU for TSE + DKNY + TONI MATICEVSKI+ TWINKLE…joining the PLATFORM of the ’sexy’ club: MALANDRINO, TRACY REESE , BRIAN REYES, BCBG and SIRIANO were sculpted in textured DRAMA while varied lengths of boots strutted the TONI FRANCESC + MACKAGE catwalk… Jill STUART had over the thigh lace-ups, cut outs and creative ‘add-ons’… HOT! though we’re normally NOT into so much romance on the feet, we liked the flowers at CAROLINA HERRERA + ELISA PALOMINO and LEATHER with ROSES and PEARLS a little brighter than usual at Y-3 + LACOSTE + ANNA SUI

Elisa Palomino was the SURPRISE du jour. Not knowing what to expect really, we were mesmerized by the sound of the live singing… opera-like at first, and going full swing into one my favorite songs “sway”… With a background of designing for Galliano for more than a handful of years before coming to DVF the last couple of years, Palomino knows how to make a dress, embellish a dress, and make it sexy without going over the top. On another level with her exquisite embroideries… we loved the gold dress with pallettes AND yes, more embroideries on the same piece. Even some oversized pallettes were embroidered. A flapper theme worked…the pink big hair on the models added to the ambiance reminding us a girl with an edge can embroider. another notable pc was the laser cut out placement leather cape… we really can’t wait to see more from this talented designer – BRIGITTE

HERCHCOVITCH- one of BRIGITTE’S favorite designers: this season, this fabulous talent has shown us a new inspiration from the Georgian and Armenian influences…
