CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Striking Silhouettes at Dior | Resort 2014

Raf Simons propelled the Christian Dior woman to the present for Resort 2014. Getting many red carpet raves from celebs like Marion Cotillard at the Cannes Film Festival 2013we knew you couldn’t wait for the full catwalk chic. Debuting in Monaco (Princess Grace Kelly was a fan), Simons will surely have a fleet of fresh fans with this refreshed Dior look.

Simons revamped the Dior woman for day with a splash of menswear-inspired details. Adding a sharp black blazer took these looks out of girly territory and more like forceful femme fatales. Floral imagery was slashed and splattered onto lightweight pieces, making delicate motifs appear daring. The translucent fabrics with their barely-there shimmering stripes left some to the imagination. There was a frenzy of shift dress in every fabrication- from light lace to twill- giving that easygoing girl plenty of options.

V-neck and strapless dresses got their chance to shine… the well-known New Look was toned down, and instead the brand’s flirtiness was shown with flowing fabrics. Opting for a slimmer silhouette modernized Dior’s classic shape-while making it much more everyday. Towards the conclusion, the collection received a much-loved jolt of color- and alot of color blocks. These shocking hues would look just as hot in the day and night. With pinks, oranges, yellows, and blues streaming down the gowns, rainbow-like hues just got regal.  fdmLOVES Christian Dior resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Mary Anderson.
