STONE ISLAND announces new FLORENCE store opening

LUXURY outerwear: Stone Island is set to open a flagship store in Florence on January 9th, 2013 to coincide with the Pitti Uomo trade show, marking the brand’s 15th worldwide store.  Set in the very center of the city in Via Vacchereccia 18/20, close to Piazza Della Signoria, the venue is two floors and will house the Stone Island, Stone Island Project, and Stone Island Junior Collections.

Just a few weeks ago, the Cannes store opened (dec. 15) at Rue du Commandant André, just a few steps from Boulevard de la Croisette. The brand continues to grow and closed 2012 with a turnover of approximately 59 million Euros. In 2012, the brand also moved to a new location in London  (79 Brewer Street at the crossroads of Soho, Piccadilly Circus and Regent Street)  and in April 2012, the first German flagship store opened in Sylt, a charming island destination on the North Sea.  check out more of what we love from Stone Island.

info about the design: The “Item/Unit 2“ system was created for Stone Island by Marc Buhre, the industrial designer from Heidelberg, founder of the Zeichenweg TM design firm. The System includes a floating floor in marine-grade stainless steel (Item) and a vertical system of interchangeable luminous fibreglass, oiled oak and carbon sabres (Unit), conceived to hold the clothes bars. Movable felt shelves are installed on the walls using aluminum elements borrowed from the sailing world.
