SoHo PRECIOUS gem DUO

On a recent walk in cozy SoHo, we discovered an E. Shaw all around gem.    Filled with little jewels and precious stones, the jolly vibe of the creative mom + daughter design duo peaked our curiosity even more.  We stayed for wine and cheese and checked out E. Shaw handcrafted raw forms of stones and gemstones made into jewelry with a one-of-a-kind crafty modern twist.

A little bee ring here,  a couple of tassel+ fluorite pendants there, and a few sparkle stone rings later, we were hooked.   Set in the heart of SoHo, this boutique filled with unique giftable jewelry has plenty of small pieces are under $200.  Here are a few snaps of what we loved at the E.Shaw store.

“When Elizabeth (aka Liz) was five years old her mother, Eva, said “We are going to the supermarket. Get ready.” Any other child would say “OK” and go in the car in whatever they were wearing. To five-year-old Liz just leaving the house was a reason to accessorize. Thirty minutes later with her toy necklaces, pendants and beads on, Liz was ready to go to the supermarket. It was at that moment that Eva knew – Liz was destined to be a jewelry designer.”

The artists, Eva and Elizabeth, create thoughtful, precious and uniquely meaningful jewelry designs steeped in the tradition of adornment.  Eva, G.G., studied at the Gemological Institute of America, and Liz earned a BA in Art History at Santa Clara University. These studies cultivated a reverence and passion for art, fashion and gemstones that ultimately became the foundation for E. Shaw Jewels. E.
