CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Roland Mouret Resort 2014

Roland Mouret delivers a daring DJ for resort 2014. No, really ! Mimi Xu, the DJmusic director | sound designer for those catchy catwalk tunes is his muse for the season. Pastels such as soft blues and pinks aren’t prim and proper, and instead they pack a punch on the strong silhouettes. A shimmering gown with a high slit is the stunner, showing how the Mouret Resort 2014 woman is going for the gold with the sharp silhouettes.

Two-tone trousers and color blocks in a kaleidoscope of colors keeps the pieces from looking too severe. Offering pants in blue with white accents is a smart way to incorporate colors without overdoing it. A tailored jumpsuit doesn’t scream disco, and instead more dinner party by sustaining the palette in black and white. Once patterns enter the picture, they appear like blown up foliage, while a second glance makes them appear much more graphic.

What Mouret conceals on top, he reveals on the bottom. Leg baring looks that sustain their seductive appeal with underlying strength thanks to the high necklines. The designer offers a spectrum of shift and cocktail dresses that cuts sharply above the knee, blurring the lines between office and off duty. Mouret revamps the one shoulder silhouette, as a blue and white dress is daring, not dainty with the layered strap. Completing the dresses with little jackets and coatdresses, their color jumps even to the outer layers. Showing that come rain or shine, the Mouret woman doesn’t let anything dampen her style.
