CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

RICARDO SECO menswear fall 2013

Now who said a kippah wouldn’t be the next hot item in fashion?! Ha, not Ricardo Seco! with his “ALIVE” fall 2013 menswear collection shown at the Eyebeam Studios in Chelsea during NYFW.  Ricardo created an authentic harmony of the most two divided zones of Williamsburg, BK– conjuring up cultural identifiers with piercing cool guy hipster liberation. Seco tells FashionDailyMag,

“I was inspired by the multi-cultural man living in Williamsburg that believes in his music and his art and is all about creativity, mixed with people that believe in tradition. But it is a similar belief. when they believe, they feel alive.”

You can clearly see the influence on the models rocking Kippah-inspired leather caps with adjustable straps to go with the payos. Ricardo is no stranger to underlining androgyny, with a huge play on proportions and relaxed  fits – he creates versatility for mass appeal without losing his edge. Long-waisted coats with over-exaggerated moto inspired lapels were layered over high neckline long silhouette shirts and slouchy chill cardis coupled with fingerless biker gloves – beaming cool rockability.  Oversized biker jackets had interesting snakeskin and quilted textures paired up with skinny leather and wool pants with ankle-zip details- and very must-have pieces for the wardrobe.

The two flashiest pieces of the collection were the forest green wool coat and boat neck fur jacket in black with hunter green tips…so yummy. With his collaboration with Converse and hipster swag reference, it was a no brainer to include the classic american staple sneaker into the mix. Ricardo Seco was experimental with different fabrications and textures that worked miracles on casual structured pieces for this season, delivering us classic edge flava. Ricardo my luv, send us every piece in a size small. (and Make sure you throw in the Kippah! Story + fdmLOVES RICARDO SECO fall 2013 selects by Anthony Pedraza.
