RAFAEL CENNAMO resort 2013
If you haven’t started a couture line, bridal line, and ready-to-wear line by the age of 28, then just what are you doing with your time?! No worries, young Rafael Cennamo has got all 3 of those bases covered. As the designer explained to us, his RESORT 2013 collection needed to be viewed in an intimate presentation with a one-on-one explanation of the garment. Never has a mastermind been so right. Although the collection was about 20 dresses of varying cocktail and gown lengths, the intricacy and mastery of detail shows the same amount of thought that some designers miss in a 40 or 50 look runway show. Colors inspired by sailors, like sky blue, natural beige, coral, and sunshine awash the dresses which are all made by hand in-house.
Though most of the looks are sweet, for a more refined lady, Cennamo incorporates enough sex appeal with nude sheer bodices with artfully twisted ropes and knots to cover the important bits. It’s as though Cennamo learned the art of pleating from Madame Vionnet herself; the young man rattles off techniques of pintucking, inverted pleating, and stop stitching like he studied alongside Valentino. Can’t wait for more ready to wear to roll out this September since resort was so smashing. Here’s a peek at some of the details we were so excited about from RAFAEL CENNAMO resort 2013 collection.
