RACHEL ROY spring 2013 highlights

the Power of prints at Rachel Roy for Spring Summer 2013. Describing her collection as “a dreamland where the unexpected collide,” it was immortalized through variety of tantalizing patterns. Deep plums tones gave the silhouettes an boost of elegance, as they took place on one-shouldered jumpsuits, wide-legged trousers, and tailored shorts. Viewers entered technicolor territory as the collection made a shift to attention-grabbing spring brights. Roy showed that dark hues should not be limited to just the cooler seasons, as they played with bold shades of orange, pink, and crisp white.

RACHEL ROY’s fun yet functional femininity was evident this time through a printed cropped pantsuit, that could easily be paired with a variety of pieces throughout the collection. The collection redefined color blocking, as the strong prints created definition, with tulips streaming down wide-legged pants while deep blue patterns played on tops. Muted tans and pale pinks soothed the high-definition looks, transforming them to office-ready ensembles. Roy reinvented the power suit in bright pink-reminding viewers that you shouldn’t take yourself too seriously.  Moments of white created a sense of pause within the collection, with a translucent top+ asymmetrical skirt. A one-shouldered amethyst gown with a canary yellow-lined fold showed how to join day+night in a cohesive way. the new season’s brights can enter the boardroom effortlessly !
