CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Proenza Schouler Resort 2014

Coming off of a third CFDA Designer of The Year award win (their third in five years!), designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez presented a relaxed and cool Proenza Schouler Resort 2014 collection. The line of subtle pale yellow, white, black and hypnotizing prints is positively enthralling. A hint of 20’s flair creates an overall romantic vibe. It’s vintage-inspired, lovely and simply comfortable.

Straight midi skirts galore look refreshingly new and no longer matronly. It’s interesting to see that this is now the trending skirt length, where it would’ve tapered lower just a year ago. The pleating on the skirts is a young touch, while the rounded-shoulders on the jackets look flattering. There is exquisite beading on the white coat and cropped top that is simply breathtaking. The color-blocking is also an added bonus of chicness. The designers took a fashion faux-pas and made it stylish: mixing black and navy on three of the dresses.

Six of the pieces are made out of the mesmerizing zigzag fabric. Slouching off the arms, a few of these dresses look idyllic for a night at the beach or inside an event. One can’t help but think the print is so entrancing. It’s unlike anything shown during Resort so far. McCollough and Hernandez decided to pair the ensembles with shorter heels which suited the chill feel. Even a handbag made out of rattlesnake made an appearance. We want to take a bite out of this line. fdmLOVES PROENZA SCHOULER resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
