CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Philipp Plein Spring 2014 MFW

It was an all-out spectacle during the Philipp Plein Spring 2014 show held in Milan. The German designer got the crowd hyped-up early with a special performance by Australian hip-hop superstar, Iggy Azalea. As she rapped her hit ‘Work,’ the gorgeous all-black models, led by the stunning Ethiopian supermodel Liya Kebede, hit the runway in looks filled with just as much glamour as sass. The overall vibe of the show fully represented this brand, a little bit high fashion with a mix of hip-hop attitude.

Sporty chic’s back with hints of all things urban and underground. Colors vary, but black and white are the most prominent here. Pockets of blue, pink and gray abound, and let’s just say the shades are pretty fierce on leather bomber jackets and short sexy short dresses. Jeans are fantastically constructed lace gems with beautiful floral intricacies. A pair of black and white striped shorts are ‘super,’ which is exactly what the paired necklace says. Speaking of phrases, Plein doesn’t shy away from being a bit cheeky, as the F-bomb’s scattered throughout…even on evening wear!

Laughing skulls (the designer’s trademark of sorts) appear a few times, most notably on a crocheted tank top. Filled with lots of sassy flair, this is a set for all the strong ladies out there. We love it. fdmLOVES PHILIPP PLEIN Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
