CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Peter Pilotto Spring 2014 LFW

There’s kings and queens of print design, but designer partners Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos are the masters. For their Peter Pilotto Spring 2014 collection, they continued with what they do best and presented an outstanding collection of the brightest brights and most flattering dress silhouettes imaginable. In fact, not a single pair of pants in sight, and we’re totally fine with that creative decision. If every dress looked like one from this line, we’d wear one every single day! This is the fantastic result when art and fashion combine.

Cara Delevingne continues to be the face of LFW. She opened this show in a pale green printed number, and again appeared later in a explosive dress of sunset hues. The collections starts out calmly in mints, blues, lace and tweed, and soon comes alive in full force in colors and patterns that are out of this world. These designers combine cute and sexy so well that nothing ever feels out of place. It’s like designing for a muse with two distinct personalities. Every girl has her wild side, and it can be shown fully with the latter half of this line. So many of these printed dresses have trippy, 3D like effects that are too modern cool. Geometric eye-trickery, like traveling up an ancient pyramid or endless flight of stairs. There’s so much going on, but as a viewer, you just keep craving more.

There’s a true 50s and 60s vibe going on in the cuts of many of thee dresses. Think Mrs. Don Draper in the modern day. A few even have sleeves and matching delicate short jackets. Just the right amount of cover without looking too matronly. These guys always nail it. With an upcoming collab with Target, there’s even more in store for this duo. fdmLOVES PETER PILOTTO spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
