NYFW HIGHLIGHTS ss16 – vol 2

Catching up:  While we’re busy reviewing shows at NYFW + LFW, here’s a more personal look at what we the #fdmlovesnyfw #girltribe were up to during the past week at NYFW!  Here’s a view from our FashionDailyMag tumblr with live + curated posts by Brigitte Segura from the fdmloves blog.  On official day 4, we made our path to the dandelion seed heads  half blown with the breeze that softened the structural vibe at Lie Sang Bong.

The ethereal hand with optical elements made for a feminine modernity that were accessorized beautifully with “wishing” flowers set. A midday break at the Tumblr Pop-up  complete with stickers, and up close and personal viewing of the #PrintAllOverMe artist x fashion collaboration- we fell in love with Brian Vu.

For the second time Laurel Dewitt chose to show at the Church of the apostles. The wearable heavy metal collection is absolutely stunning with superb craftsmanship. Keeping things in the girly vein, the Georgine runway was a colorfully sassy display. Sparkling on at Vivienne Hu, the Swarovski collective designer showed off her radiant sensibility. From Vanderbilt Hall the Art Hearts rtw show offered up 4 designer collective.

Official Day 5

We fell in love all over again backstage at Libertine. And the show was fab of course too – clever prints, and colorful juxtapositions on both casual cuts and trim tailoring. Time to let our gorgeously geek alter ego take over at the Tech Style Event. We came, we saw, we sampled – and we’ll be sharing it all with you! Gilded moments in a dramatic setting with disco dancing vibes at La Botanika. A #girlpower moment in the making at Morgan Le Fay

Day 6

Lots of love for the beautiful people at Gypsy Sport. The NY spirit fused with the boho theme made for a cool collection, and crowd. Multi color gowns rocked at Michael Costello and and a sophisticated summer scene stole the show at Blue Les Copains. On top of the standard, we caught up with the likes of Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Tumblr’s Valentine Uhovski, and bicycle cutie Lorenzo Martone.    Talk about setting the stage.. the Havana heat transformed Hanley Mellon. From the cars, to the models, everything complemented the spicy sense of fashion.  Carmen Marc Valvo was chock full of Beauty x beauty backstage and on the runway.  Take a look at our BTS imagery, coming soon here!

Day 7 (Wednesday 9/16)

Off to Pier 59 Studios for an elegant collection by Stella Nolasco. We caught some hair + beauty backstage and our EIC bumped into the designer too! Gorgeous finishing touches and styling asides captured the essence of the Thomas Wylde collection. Loads of fab backstage moments, before the awe of the first look at Park Choon Moo. Rounding out the season with our fashionably fun pals The Blonds. All that glitters is gold, from attendee Bette Midler to models with winged silhouettes, the duo strikes again with one of a kind wonders.
