CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

MISSONI spring 2014 MFW

The Missoni Spring 2014 collection was everything a dream vacation would look like. We could literally escape into the prints of ocean waves and birds featured on a majority of the pieces shown. Angela Missoni’s inspirations of  lush tropical destinations from travels was apparent, with patterns this season almost resembling a painting.

Tribal prints and color blocks were new main attractions for Missoni’s spring collection. We enjoyed the beautiful tones of  blues, purples, and some hot pinks which seemingly fused together in an almost scenic way. Chunky jewelry gave the pieces even more pizazz in an upbeat playful manner. Sarongs and knitwear complimented the flattering cuts of the tops and skirts. Skirts were slim cut and tops were in silk, cotton and leather.

Patterns were mixed with textured varieties of fabrics, and Traditional Missoni zigzag patterns were exaggerated.  The opening piece featured a mural of an open ocean view contrasting against a snow white sky with silhouettes of seagulls above.

Overall this collection was fresh and couldn’t have been more colored blocked perfection. Pops of  blues dazzled,  the silhouettes were modern,  with just enough creative varieties to get our attention. FDM loves Missoni Spring 2014 collection selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Natalie Barry.
