CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

MENSWEAR ss16 PFW highlights

Hotter than ever, the menswear collections recently presented in Paris have been filled with rich silk fabrics, layers of patterns, some relaxed fits and slim fitting tailored pieces.  Floral and tropical motifs, as well as stars took center stage, with more traditionally feminine fabrications and embellishments taking over the bolder menswear runway during PFW.  Here’s a little glimpse of what we’re loving.

Valentino brought us to a youthful tropical location with their laid-back Hawaiian shirts and embroidered silk bombers. Yellow, neutrals and denim were paired with colorful patterns and embroideries creating a delicate balance of casual daring. Familiar faces include Janis Ancens, Piero Mendez, and Ben Allen, with fave looks including the denim jumpsuit + casual jackets.

Dries Van Noten’s ss16 collection was filled  Marilyn Monroe images printed onto suits, tank tops, and shorts. The collection’s appropriation of the famous celebrity felt like an ode to Andy Warhol’s pop art movement, with a relaxed fit adding to the summer vibe.  Piero Mendez added to the finale flavor with a marilyn chic lounge robe- ready for a girl to borrow.

Givenchy presented their latest collection with a combination of male and female models taking command of the runway, with bold black and white pinstripe patterns and religious imagery. Different shades of blue and black showed up repeatedly during the show making the collection more aggressive and dynamic. Both Naomi Campbell and Kendall Jenner made an appearance during the show, drawing viewers further into Givenchy’s new collection.

Dior Homme’s runway was filled with bold white flowers in full bloom as the models took down the runway some of the garments were also embroidered with the floral designs. Skinny and slim fit tailored garments were paired with camo and argyle patterns. The collection managed to incorporate bold orange and yellow colors to adding a bit of fun to the beautifully designed new collection.

3.1 Phillip Lim combined relaxed preppy with maximum style to create a beautiful collection of cool and luxurious pieces.   Piero Mendez + Ben Allen made an appearance wearing eye catching patterned white and green trousers.  The leisure vibes, combined with a cool green color palette + patterns with standout details resulted in a fresh new collection.

HBA | Hood by Air surprisingly (to us) showed in Paris, with a chock full of details ranging from embellishment to zippers to pleats, and alot of leather – with a purple flavor.

Saint Laurent ss16 menswear brought the shiny embellished house down.  Sparkled fringe on guys and girls, with bomber jackets and multi layering with plaids and an attittude for days.
