CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Mathieu Mirano Spring 2014

Rich fabrics and detailed tailoring gave way for exotically expensive looks in Mathieu Mirano’s Spring 2014 collection. Inspired and with a story, the garments reflect the seduction and power of a femme-fatale. Luxurious yet refined this debut ushered in a new version of sexy sophistication for the modern woman.

Opulence and lavish fabrics made this collection distinct from some others that showed at NYFW.  Young Mirano utilized French lace in creative ways including laminating it, and layering it over chic metallic python. Many looks included Leathers, pheasant feathers, lace, and stretch fabrications combined to create eye-appealing textures.

Bustiers were a common theme among the collection, but were in no means identical. White, silver, lace, harnessed, cut-out, and cropped all created variety for hot spring trends. Perfectly cocktail dresses, tailored suits jackets, high-waisted shorts, and skirts made the collection look clean-cut and put-together, like any powerful woman should be.

Though the fabrics were indulgent, the color palette never strayed from simple bold red, black, nudes, whites, silver, and rose-gold. One of the most exquisite pieces was a dress made of a nude leather bustier on top and gold gilded feathers decorated with rose petals for the bottom portion. Mathieu Mirano’s lush and effortless femininity will no doubt dominate the runways in seasons to come. fdm LOVES MATHIEU MIRANO SPRING 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Nadia Hartvigsen.
