CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Marni Spring 2014 MFW

Some lines invite you in like a soft caress. There’s a very romantic feel in the Marni Spring 2014 collection. Designer Consuelo Castiglioni proves once again that she is the queen of romanticism in her cuts and overall aesthetic. Not to get confused with flouncy, the Mari girl still possesses a strong personality with restraint. She balances the right amount of girlish charm with sophistication. From head to toe, this set is an ode to what it is to be female.

Starting from the top, almost every model is wearing a visor variation, sometimes shading the eyes, sometimes pronounced on the head. They act as a sort of balance for the clothing, which anyone can see is sheer perfection. Womanly curves are accentuated, lines are soft. Things lay dreamily, as full skirts hit the calf and coats sweep off the shoulders. Trousers, skirts and dresses flatter with easy movement. Flowers are a prominent feature on coats, skirts and accessories. Belts are cinched at the waist while bomber jackets add that slight bit of edge over flowery skirts.

The color palette stays warm and inviting in white, black, grey, red and green. The 3D florals look like wonderful flower bushes grown in a backyard garden. Make sure not to pick any off! Accessories stay consistent, as the Marni Trunk is featured in check patterns this time. Acetate glasses add the right amount of mystery, still enough to turn heads. fdmLOVES MARNI Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
