CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2014 PFW

A showstopping triumph accurately describes the Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2014 collection. This magnum opus of fashion is exquisite in design, cut and construction. It’s circus-inspired, but never kitschy. It’s a tailoring dream with sleek pants and blazers that always feel more high fashion than ringleader. Still, it’s a fun source of inspiration that really soars to new heights like trapeze artists. Really phenomenal.

Hints of menswear staples are evident but given a feminine flip. Tuxedo pants and tailcoats are tweaked and are definite Margiela gems. Tunic jackets with fun black ribbon fastens are super innovative, along with dazzling sparkling vests and dresses. In fact, ribbon detailing is used often as ties on sleeves, too. A definite ‘why didn’t we think of that?’ detail. A blazer with ‘overall’ straps is also a fun highlight here.

Diamond prints and ruby red gemstones are jester fabulous. Can’t stay enough about the detailing on embodied looks. These ladies are ready for the performance of a lifetime. They just need hoops to jump through. fdmLOVES MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA Spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
