CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

LIBERTINE spring 2015 NYFW

Fun times in multi color heaven!  backstage at Libertine spring 2015 we got the close up details of this eclectic collection at NYFW.   Textured patterns with coolish bling:  sequined baseball jackets, and colorful leathers with were just the first bits we noticed.  Taking a closer look, we found studs placed on patterns, tonal shine on solids (check out the lavender jacket we’re crazy about), and a lot of eye candy that looked like candy.

The vibes were all smiles backstage, accessoried models in  plastic beaded sunnies and throwbacks to Shrinky Dinks and Light Bright toys.  Designer Johnson Hartig shares his inspiration from meeting a couple of Ravers earlier in the summer.  After asking the “ravers”  if he could buy every piece of jewelry they were wearing, they said “no”, but a grand idea was sparked.  Johnson’s savvy way with mixing textures, colors, patterns, and emotions has been put into overdrive and shot into stratosphere with this collection.  Fun and wearable.  Loved! here are a few of our favorites including the Edie Parker sparkled skull bag for Libertine. “Ecologically friendly fashion” – Hartig is revolutionizing the way we think of graphics, deconstruction of the classics and recycled clothing. His great creative prowess has led to often unusual and intriguing collaborations with luminaries such as Damien Hirst, Goyard, and an influence in the broader market with a line for Target. With over 50,000 press editorials during his career, industry insiders, editors, celebrities and taste-makers seek out Hartig not only for his witty take on the world of fashion, but for his view and contributions in all areas of art and design. Early champions include Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano.

Hartig lives in Los Angeles, and travels throughout the world, fueling his creative growth (and causing a little grief) along the way. We love it all – I mean – check out my smiling face. LIBERTINE spring 2015 NYFW commentary and selects by Brigitte Segura.
