CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Kris Van Assche menswear spring 2014

Mixing sportswear with formal attire is never an easy task, but Kris Van Assche‘s menswear spring 2014 achieves such a great feat. We’re talking about actually combining sporty characteristics onto fancier styles. Snap buttons, big pockets and elastic detailing are all incorporated onto bold outwear and sleek trousers. Can’t forget to mention the colors too. It’s a unique palette of greens, oranges, blues and black shades. It’s a line that comes back to bite in a good way.

Most of the styles feel pretty youthful. Prints are kitschy and fun in polka dots and circles. Even some modish retro throwbacks, especially when these prints are thrown onto short suits. Feel that groovy vibe? Hunter green is an interesting color for tailored suits, but it works like a perfect evergreen tree. Black’s always a winner in formal styles including a fancy pullover with a stark white zipper. That too has that vintage look. The same zipper detail is also spotted on several other looks…an obvious sporty touch.

Red-orange, a trending menswear color, is scorching here. The matching shirt and shorts look pops. The accessories might just seem like basic backpacks and gym bags, but they’re given a super luxe-lift in croc-embossed leather. Loving that luxuriousness. fdmLOVES KRIS VAN ASSCHE menswear spring 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
