CURATED LUXURY LIFESTYLE FASHION ART and WELLNESS magazine NYC curating good vibes by BRIGITTE SEGURA

Joanna Mastroianni Spring 2014

Banging pop music and 80’s-inspired accessories accompanied Joanna Mastroianni Spring 2014’s techno-inspired spring collection. Models sashayed in looks that ranged from edgy, retro dresses, to glitzy gowns, to kimono-inspired frocks. Graphic black and white ensembles opened the show, with the array of blocky separates given a robotic feel through being paired with a neon handbag and slick, high ponytails and sleek bobs.

Vivid hues of mandarin orange, sunshine yellow, and fierce aqua blue amped up the vibe as feathers and dazzling sequins and jewels adorned with statement making aptitude. A trip to the orient  a series of spring-inspired floral patterns involving orchards, cherry, and apple blossoms on silk separates, demonstrating the label’s ability to walk a wide range of styles for the warmer months. We took a look at backstage beauty before the show and got a sneak peak at the looks, and got a few snaps of Devyn, who just won on naomi campbell’s the face…

Standout looks included a string of fierce, plunging black and white party dresses with razor-sharp and daring hemlines, whilst a stunning, floor-length kimono-inspired giraffe print kaftan exuded exoticism. Inspired by Gaudi the show was the perfect combination of youthful vision and sophisticated feminine details for the urban goddess.  Joanna Mastroianni Spring 2014 written by Khia Mercer.
