Jason Wu Resort 2014
Gorgeous textures are everywhere in Jason Wu’s 2014 resort collection. They’re paired together in such a fantastical way that it’s almost like tweed and satin were made for each other. Mixing such different fabrics is a risk (and often times looks too busy), but Wu nailed it and created a line from pure artistry expertise. It’s sensuality meets femininity. Imaginative sums up this line… along with incredible flair.
The eye automatically goes straight to the Kelly green patent leather high-waisted skirt and coat that are both paired with black-and-white counterparts. The coat looks like a futuristic rain slicker while the bralette is a fun take on the naval-bearing trend that’s steaming hot right now. Wu also chose to form sequins into a botanical print in black and white, almost like reflecting on a tropical paradise memory. The entire assortment can be worn on a plane straight to the islands. The results are heavenly!
The diversity of this line is astounding. Ranging from pants, shorts , and skirts to sexy sheer dresses and evening gowns, it never looks cluttered. Every single piece tells a story, including the monokini and one-piece swimsuits that are so glamorously now. Wu’s originality is also shown by his denim-treated silk dresses and skirts. It’s the most resort-ready line we’ve seen and fdmLOVES it. JASON WU resort 2014 selects by Brigitte Segura, written by Allison Ripa.
